This free service easily links the food guide
to the grocery-shopping list. The instructions below explain how to create a food guide for a group of people e.g. family or friends coming over for dinner. You can:
Print the recommended number of food guide servings for the entire group on a single sheet of paper.
Get the amount required from each food group for the entire family for a period e.g. a week or a month
Totals up the number of food guide servings as items are added to the grocery-shopping list and compares with what the family needs for the period.
Any family member or authorised person (spouse, partner, child etc) can add items to the shopping list from their desktop computer, laptop, or cell phone at any time, from home, office, school, train, subway or on the bus.
The shopping list can be printed or opened at the store from a web-enabled cell phone and items checked off as they are picked.
Print to use while preparing meals. It shows how much to include from each of the four food groups.
Use it as a reference while sharing food at the table, i.e. what portion from the four food groups each member should take, in other words how to fill up the plate.
The food guide table on the right is updated.
The table on the right shows the required food guide servings per day for each person as well as a group total. The total can be used as reference while preparing daily meals.
